Endangered History
Preserving the past. Protecting what remains.
Endangered History is a public history and preservation initiative of MetHer by Design, LLC, dedicated to connecting historians, museum professionals, preservationists, educators, and communities.
Across the United States, historic fortifications, battlefields, archaeological sites, cultural landscapes, and other significant places face threats from development, erosion, neglect, and the loss of public awareness.
Our mission is to bring these places and their stories into public conversation through historical research, education, documentation, and community engagement.
Fort Stanwix National Monument — Rome, New York. A reconstructed 18th-century fortification associated with the American Revolutionary War and the broader history of the Mohawk Valley.
